  10. hi Heath, im Daniel from Tassie. I also was involved in a truck accident in January this year. my situation was similar to yours as i was flown to the austin hospital and spent 2 weeks in intensive care then another 3 week in the spinal unit before i was also tranfered to the royal talbot for the next 3 1/2 months. i was classed as a c4-c3 injury. i was then told by a certain dr. at the talbot that i possibly will never walk again and will have no use of my left arm from the shoulder down and there is nothing they can do. 3 months later, im walking about and next month im back to melb for an operation on my left arm. While i was in the Talbot, the nurses told me there was another truck driver also at the Talbot, and they would introduce us once i was up and about. But,Getting up and about took a litte longer than expected and you were lucky enough to be sent home before i achieved that. Good luck with it all.

  17. Hello Heath,
My name is Karly, I was the Assistant Photographer at Rhys and Meredith’s wedding. After meeting you I was truly inspired by your courage and after reading your story I am completely amazed. Life altering moments can happen for better or for worse – Mine came when I was 11 with Type One Diabetes. The mind boggles when one considers what can be achieved through stem-cell research, fingers crossed it is all successful. Keep up the good work Rhys – Your photography is simply outstanding.
    All the best! – Karly

  22. Hey Heath,Paget here, friend of Sandy’s and little Jas’ dad. Have watched your blog since the beginning, great idea and very well done. Your story is incredible and you are an inspiration. The blog above by Daniel White is pretty cool too, cool because he followed up and even cooler because he’s walking. Just shows, you can and will do it and don’t listen to anyone that says otherwise. I reckon the scientists are getting closer and closer to finding improvements , if not cures, in this area. So keep at it mate,I reckon you will be up and about one day.Cheers,Paget
